I'm out of control...

Recommended Posts

Out of control...are you kidding me...I was the poster child for out of control and boy did I have a food funeral...but when the surgery prep diet started (10 days for me), I was able to flip the switch and get serious. I guess because I was not in denial, I know what I was doing, I had all my liquid diet stuff ready to go at the house BEFORE my diet started so I could jump into it with no distractions of going to the store and figuring out what I was going to eat...be prepared!!

I was the same way!! The second my doctor gave me my surgery date, I was a maniac with food. I don't know how I managed to not gain weight during that time, because I attended a lot of "food funerals" lol!! I just started my pre op diet yesterday and its been easier than i thought :)

I had my surgery yesterday. I slept like crap last night because the pain medicine was not sufficient. Plus they cleaned the floor during the night and the cleanser gave me a bad headache. Today I feel a little better. I've taken in tiny sips of Water and had about a half of a freezy three times. I still have a drain in my abdomen but it's not bothersome. The pain is still not under control. I would suggest bringing your own liquid pain medication from your own doctor. The pain is keeping me from moving like I should. They give Toradol here and that's ALL. I suppose one could bring liquid tylenol but it may be hard to get it all down. Most adult liquid tylenols require you take a couple table spoons for an effective dose. Right now all I can take in is a tiny sip every 1-2 minutes. It would likely take 10 min to get all that tylenol in but it would help. I will post again for you later. I need to go walk around some more to move the gas through. You will have lots of gas pressure in your abdomen, chest and instestines. Walking does help move it through. Keep me posted on your journey. Take care.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
