Banana Babes

Hello November Sleevers!

Please come and introduce yourselves! Scorch picked our name a few weeks ago in another thread. We are the banana BABES, because like she said, " our stomachs will end up looking like a banana".

I will start.

November 16th is my big day! I would have LOVED to have accepted the 7th, but I have tickets to see STING in concert. Don't you love my priorities? :P (Actually the tickets were expensive, non refundable & my husband would kill me).

So the 16th it is and I couldn't be happier. Before Thanksgiving is probably not ideal, but being sleeved and somewhat recovered by January 1st ,2012 is way more important to me. I can't wait!

Just checking in, I am doing better with my protein and water finally smile.png Feeling better today that I am 13 days post op smile.png I can't wait for my 2 week check this friday so I can finally start my purees lol happy.png 28 lbs gone since pre op liquid diet, not bad at all smile.png

Yeah today I woke up feeling much better. I know it will take time, it just gets so boring the same thing. Dh did add one scoop of protein to my pudding and that tastes delicious. So much better than trying to down another protein shake but still getting the protein. He is a genius and just knowing I am getting my protein but not having to drink a protein shake today is the highlight of my day and make me feel like I can do this.

and I hope I get to the point where food doesn't control my life. Right now its just a different control than before..lol

  • Has anyone experience a lot of intestinal gas, with pain?

Liliana.....a little tough love going your way here. What you are doing "wrong" is letting the scale have control over you and not managing your expectations. You have lost a TON of weight, not losing for one week is hard, but expected!

I am actually shocked I haven't stalled yet. Probably because I didn't have a pre-op diet or just pure luck. I am waiting for it though. I know it will come and most likely more than once in this journey. Be kind to yourself! Breathe in.......breathe out....slowly. happy.png

Liliana, I take gas -x and it has help a lot... plus added to my diet beneful and helps me too.

Thanks longer life ;) how you been? damn i see your ticker moving like crazy!! Congrats!!!

geno, awesome I will try gas x strips, is is beneful pills? where I can get that? TIA

Gas x and wearing a girdle has helped me a lot. I bought one at walmart for 20 bucks. Its just like a tight tank top. That is surely helping get the gas out.

I have lost 10 lbs so far. I am praying and hoping things start moving faster because this is frustrating. I am also really missing my diet coke but doing much better.

You guys are doing awesome :)

Hi Banana Babes! I've been traveling for work (get to go home tomorrow night YAY) so I've missed getting to check in here every day. I don't think I was quite prepared for how hard it would be to travel so soon after surgery (I was sleeved Nov 7th). Eating all meals out with my co-workers has not been much fun. I'm SO ready to get home and eat my "normal" food again.

Also, it is driving me CRAZY that I haven't been able to weigh all week. I sure hope my scale has good news for me when I get home!

Edited to add - I lost 5.8 pounds this week! I think I may be able to better deal with those stalls now. Yay! I really needed this little boost.

Hi all, i was sleeved on 11/22 but i have not been able to eat any solid food as per my doctor, and I just digest 1 more shake after 6 weeks of protein shake.

How is everyone else doing, can you eat other things

as per my doctor I should start at 6 weeks but i just cant do it anymoree
