I waited 7 months post op to enjoy a nice cold beer. I bought Miller Genuine Draft 64 and sipped it slowly. It was so worth the wait. I had no problems. I like having an occasional beer but not more than 1. Doctor said it was okay. I still don't (and won't) drink soda. Not worth it to me.

I am not a beer drinker, but I drink soda. The carbonation is not going to stretch out your sleeve. There is zero scientific evidence to show that soda stretches anything.

I drink mixed drinks mostly (not in pregnancy), but when I go out it's either wine or rum/cokes.

I waited until I was at goal to indulge in alcohol mainly for 2 reasons; 1) Empty Calories that weren't worth drinking 2) In the rapid weight loss phase, our livers are working overtime, I didn't think it was worth it to throw alcohol in my body for my liver to process on top of everything else.

I will get a beer when I go out with friends. It takes me a really long time to drink a beer now... maybe 2 hours. But I can still enjoy a beer with friends.

I'm not a beer drinker anyway but my patient coord. for Dr. Aceves told me an interesting story. She told me he has had only one patient regain weight, one man gained back 40 lbs from drinking a lot of beer.

I know I shouldn't have, but last night I had my first beer since surgery. I am just about 5 months out and I felt just fine. I sipped slowly, burped a bit and enjoyed a cold beer with friends. Life is good. Don't let this decisions about beer be a deal breaker. I promise it was something I was worried about in the beggining, but I would give it all up to be where I am now. This feeling of getting healthy and losing weight is better than an buzz you'll get from drinking a beer. I Promise!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
