I NEED YOUR ADVICE!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi my sleeve family I need some advice. I met a wonderful person online about 3 months ago and we have been talking, texting and emailing but we have not met. We have exchanged photos and really have developed a friendship and a budding relationship. We will be meeting for the first time this weekend and I am very excited, but I am not sure if I should tell about my upcoming wls in November. I have shared everything about myself except that. What would you do in my situation? How should I handle this?

Hmmmmm, If it were me, I would at least wait to see how things progress after the first meeting. I wouldn't feel the need to tell them immediately. But if the relationship progresses further, then yes I would tell them. It's going to be a big part of your life and part of who you are. Hiding things in a relationship to some people is the same as lying, which would then possibly cause trust issues.

Good luck!

:)

Just curious if this person is on the heavier side also. If so, it may be a great conversation piece and he might even get the sleeve too. Not only that but there are so many questions to ask yourself..... Like, Will he still be attracted to me when I'm thin, or vice verse. Will you be ok with him being heavier when you are thin and getting a lot of attention from other men?

You never know...Some of those questions can save you a lot of heartache in the long run.

I agree with telling at some point, November is a ways off so you have plenty of time to lead in to it. Regardless if the person is heavier or not, if they like a heavy woman then this could certainly change your relationship.

He is tall and slim, 6’3 about 240lbs, and yes loves a thick women. So I don’t know if this news is going to change the course of the relationship.

You might just want to start off with something like.... Hey I have a friend that had this done and was wondering what you thought about it....

Make it not so much about you at first to feel him out. Wouldn't it be great if he said " whatever makes you happy".

If he likes thick women, then I would definetely tell him asap. Because if that is one of his criteria you are not going to be that woman ever again after November :) And it might be better to find a man that will be willing to do the journey with you as you slim on down

If he likes you, he will like you for what you are and not what you look like!

I personally have not told a sole (except hubby about mine) but I think I would if I were you. That way, if he is only interested in you for your looks, then you won't get hurt when you are skinny! LOL

If I could change anything about my life.... I would be honest with my man when I first met him. We have been together 25 years. .. and I still have secrets I can't reveal. Think about the future before you omit or lie.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
