Gain weight during 6 month diet....

Recommended Posts

OMG!! I went for one of my last pre op visits with my surgeon and when they weighted me, I gained 6 pounds!!! I was doing so well up until the beginning of this month. I went into a bit of a blue funk and I sometime emotionally eat and hence the weight gain. I'm sooo scared my insurance will deny me because it looks like I didn't follow thru with the diet! I can keep myself in the butt!!! OAN: I have a surgery date of September 19th! I can't really be excited because of this weight gain issue! Please pray for me that all goes well...

Me too! I really hope we are still in the clear. I don't have a date yet, but my six month ends November.

My last weigh in was during my time of the month and I had gained 5 lbs. I could have died. Hopefully our next weigh in is better.

Good luck. :)

I just had my final weigh in. During the entire 6 months, I only lost a total of 14 pounds. At my 4th visit I had gained 2 #'s back and what my physician told me was that it was good because that will show the insurance company one of the main reasons I can't do this without the sleeve...duh because I fail at diets!!! tongue.gif

They're submitting my paperwork for approval next week! Good luck to you all.

I did the 6 months diet and lost only 10 pounds. The Dr told me that if you fail the 6 month diet will not affect you because that what they are going to show insurance company that we failed doing the diet. I am rigth now on the pre op liquid diet. My surgery date is 9/7. Wish you guys luck!

I also gained about 5 lbs before my surgery! I think I had the "last meal syndrome" and felt like I had to eat everything I wanted because I wasn't going to be able to eat it again! I was still approved for my surgery! I had it on Aug 24th so I am still recovering, and on my full liquid stage. Everyone says you will be able to eat your favorite foods again, so just try your hardest to stick to your diet if your doctor put you on one(my doc did not require me to lose any weight pre op, luckily). Good luck! It will come quick!rolleyes.gif

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
