Tomorrow is the big day

Recommended Posts

What a roller coaster of emotions, huh? I keep going back and forth from being really calm and determined and being scared out of my mind. I did my required pre-op crying last night and I hope that's the last of it. I keep telling myself that it's normal to be afraid to fail, and it's normal to be afraid of being a statistic, but that I'm going to be just fine and I'm going to be so glad I did it just like everyone else on this board. Wish me luck!

Well, we have the same day then. I'm a little nervous and hope I'm doing the right thing. I know I am but still nervous. Yea, a roller coaster of emotions, but in my situation I'm doing the right thing, and my decision to have this took me years.

Good luck to you tomorrow, you know you will be just fine.

I'm glad to have company lol. I'm scheduled for 8:30 this morning. I'm just ready to get it going. It's kinda girlie of me to be so nervous, but I am.

I'm 294 lbs on my home scale this morning, so that is my starting point.

I have sleep apnea bad, and my primary goal is to resolve that.

Okay, got to get moving, I will post again when I'm on the other side.

Congratulations to all of you. You'll be just fine, your recovery will be over before you know it, and it really is one of the best decisions that you could make for yourself. Don't be afraid. Be proud that you're taking charge of a really important aspect of your lives. See you all on the other side.

I cried like a little girl in the holding room when they were starting my IV. I was so scared. But I made it through. I was in horrible pain when I woke up but I already feel so much better. I just did my first walk around the floor. I'm sore but my spirits are high. Thank you all so much for the support. I'm so happy to be on the loser's bench!

The nurse havens a Valium to calm me a little. Then the pre op drug, and than I was waking up. It was done.

So as I post thisit 11:15pm, in just wide awake but in almost no pain.

I am still raking my pain mess, but feel really good. Met a lady here that said she had wls 20 years ago, and she was talking very positive about it.

Wow, lots of typos in the above post. Sorry about that.

Brought my Halls cough drops (SF) and got the idea from this forum, so thank you. Convinced the wife to go home to be with our adult chid. My dear wife would dotte on me, of course she means well, but I will do better like this

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
