weight loss after surgery

Sometimes inches show more than scales. It is always a good idea to take measurements too. You may be losing more than you can see.

This is day 8 for me and it took the first week just to lose the IV liquid weight. But happily I am down 5 #s since my origional surgery day weight. Definatly take measurements too.

I lost 55lbs pre-op which gave me a big advantage post op. I am glad that I didn't have so much to lose after surgery and had such a short goal of 60lbs. I only have 15 more to go.

I am sure I will be there by my 6 month mark which is November 9th. I am just a little over 3 months out and losing slowly, but every loss is a loss and I am happy with it. At least I am not gaining!! :)

I would never be considered a quick loser, but seeing as this is a LIFE LONG change, I'm totally ok with that. Try not to compare yourself to others, and DEFINITELY don't sell yourself short!! You CAN ALWAYS do so much more than you ever dreamed possible!!! I'm living proof of that.

Celebrate your losses and be proud of your journey.

Take photos of yourself, before an durings, keep measurements, keep logs of all your NSV's... these will brighten your day when the scale is being a poopy butt. :)

Good luck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
