Help on bill after BCBSIL

Recommended Posts

I just found out today that BCBSIL stopped covering an assistant surgeon on VSG 6/1/11. I have been told that my Dr's assistant bills and co-surgeon which is some how different. Just wondering if anyone has gotten a bill and knows how BCBSIL is now paying? A little freaked, I won't do this if $20,000 will come from my pocket!!

Did you find out anything regarding coverage for the assistant surgeon? I have BCBSIL also & am concerned b/c of your post. I'm hoping to be approved in October for the sleeve.

Is it a matter of how the bill needs to be submitted (I ran into this when I had my lap-band because a nurse anesthetist was used and not billed separately, but needed to be -- took me about 6 months to resolve), or that the person's involvement is not covered? Can you paste the exact verbiage in your plan? I'm not completely understanding the problem as you've stated it in your post, but the contract language should help clarify.

(I used to work for an insurance company and may be of some help, or if nothing else know some "insiders" I can ask.)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
