So I just updated my ticker and realized I have lost half of my excess weight! Woo Hoo! :D Now I still have a lot of weight to lose but this is a great realization!

My doctor set my goal between 230 and 260 (started at 417). There is absolutely no way I would be happy with that! I set my goal at 175 and figured I would just reassess when I reached that. Did you all stick with your doctor's goal or set your own? I just feel 230-260 is too high. I've been at 200 before and wasn't even happy with my weight then.

Congrats on the weight lost... that's awesome. How tall are you?

I'm 5'5 and a pear shape. My sugeon set a goal that was too low for me... 130 uhm I was 210 pounds when I was 13 yo. I don't think I was ever 130, my body would never let me get that low, I would look ill. The smallest I've been was 170 and I plateau and body wouldn't go down past that. I wearing 8/10 on top and 14 bottoms, My face was really skinny then but I wanted to drop to 10/12 bottoms. This time I plan on doing laser Lipo on my hips to make it more proportionate with my top. My weight goal is 155 but I will reevaluate myself once I get to 170.

Are you kidding me? You have lost over 122 lbs since March? Okay, stand up. Wrap your arms around yourself because that is me hugging you for such an amazing weight loss! Next, look real closely at the screen since I think you can see me dancing for your success thus far.

Keep up the great work...you are rockin' your sleeve!

I think maybe your doc was thinking if you lost half he was successful and set an attainable goal for you. You do what you feel it GOOD FOR YOU! My doc did not set a goal for me. I started at 271 and would like to get down to 145. I am 5 foot 3, however it seems my body has gotten comfy at this 161 range :( Now that I am sidelined with a broken foot and unable to exercise I think the scale may stick here for a while :(

Oh I should clarify- I started losing in November for my pre-op diet. I lost 63 lbs before surgery in March.

I am 5'7 and kind of pear shaped. 130 does seem low but I guess we will just know when our body is ready to stop. Laser lipo sounds fabulous! :D

I set my own goal of 175. It is still considered high according to the BMI chart (*cough**that crappy little evil chart**cough, cough) but I know where I felt comfortable from my past. I may adjust it as I get closer to my goal weight but for now, that is where it is.

You are doing AWESOME. Keep up the good work.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
