I was just wondering if anyone had had success with the sleeve after weighing 400lbs pre-op. I was originally opting for the gastric bypass but my surgeon said my bmi was too high and i am now having the sleeve done. I dont really want to have to have another surgery after the sleeve, so I just want to know if anyone has had success with just the sleeve with a high bmi. thanks

I'm a guy but I was at almost 500lb. I had the surgery last November. I'm at 324 now.

I was 331 day of surgery. I am 10 months out and down 96 pounds. I weighed in at 235.8 this morning. The sleeve rocks....I think u will do awesome with the sleeve. Its not been as fast as gastric bypass....but slow and steady!

Surgeon said that the sleeve would take care of the first 100-120 for me with little will power. He said anything above that is up to how well I keep to the program. I think any weight loss tool has the ability to help a 400+ pounder get to a healthy weight. What matters is the execution. It doesn't matter if you are getting RNY or VSG or just counting calories, it is ultimately up to the individual to make the commitment and follow the program in order to lose the weight. I am only one week post op right now but hope to reach my goal weight within 18 months.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
