Did you start vitamins right away?

Recommended Posts

I started at day 10 and it was a struggle. If I had it to do over again I'd wait another week.

I started them about 6 days out, but they were too hard on my stomach so I'm holding off until I'm eating more substantial food.< /p>

You should get instructions about that when you leave the hospital. Many doctors have you start at different times, just like they often have different rules about introducing foods back into your diet. It's tough for most to get all of the vits, Protein and liquids in early on. It gets easier.

My surgeon said 1 week out and in liquid form until I was able to be on solids. Congrats on upcoming surgery!

I switched to chewable Multivitamins two weeks prior to surgery. They made me nauseous but I kept taking them. I was supposed to re-start them immediately after surgery, but I couldn't keep them down. Called the Doc office and the nurse said to try my regular capsule Multivitamin with a small amount of Water. No problem. Doctor added B12 and Vit D at two weeks post-op. I have my 3 month post-op visit next week and am told he will re-start Iron and Calcium at that time. I am also taking Biotin to hopefully start Hair growth.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
