Pre-Op Diet day 1

Recommended Posts

I started the dreaded diet today. Actually, it has been pretty ok. My doc uses Medifast so I can have their brand of pancakes, eggs, Soups, bars, and shakes. I can have 5-6 products a day. In between, I can have sugar free popscicles, Jello, and broth. I KNOW I can do this!! At least I will tell myself that until July 12th!!

I'll join you. I started mine today too. I get 5 Protein shakes/bars. Right now I'm using Special K. But trying to find a powder I like. I ordered some from GNC. I also get one meal a day. What makes mine harder, is that I'm on vacation this week. But I know it will all be worth it in the end.

Good luck to us both, and all to follow.

I'm starting the lower-carb phase of my pre-op diet today too, even though I don't know if my surgery is going to fall through or not due to the insurance problems. For me, this means going from one Protein shake a day to two - I'm doing unjury shakes mixed with skim milk - and only having one full meal a day, plus Snacks in the low-carb range (string cheese, yum). I'm proceeding as though the surgery is going to happen as scheduled.

Good luck to all of us!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
