I have been thinking about this and realized I feel a little like people who have sex changes feel. Inside I am a totally different person. I feel like me. As soon as I catch a glimpse in a full length mirror or window, or am reminded in some fashion (folding fat pants, winded bending over etc.) I am reminded that I am not that person right now. At least what others see isnt the true me. I also feel the stares, whispers, snickers etc. over my size.

Do you guys know what I am talking about? I am so looking forward to the outside matching the inside. Being that fit, active, happy woman who is hibernating on the inside.

I know what you mean... the last couple years I've been real lethargic, and feeling like crap all the time and looking like crap all the time... granted I don't have my sleeve until next week, I've started my pre-op diet, lost a few pounds, and I feel like a million bucks... I don't have to take insulin, i have energy, I feel great.. a total 180 from last week even.. and I know it'll only get better... I feel the same way, and the outside is soon going to match the inside!

Yes i can totally relate! I don't feel on the inside, the way I look on the outside. A thin person trapped in the wrong fat body. I also feel younger and even act younger than my age. It's strange!

Carrierae,

I SO know how you feel! I am eight days post op from a Verticle Sleeve Gastrectomy (Yeah, 8 whole days) and have lost 32 pounds. (20 I lost on the pre-op diet, twelve in the eight days since surgery). And I feel different inside. And it is not just my stomach that feels different, something else is different! I am so excited to think that I am going to be NORMAL (well at least normal sized, I don't suppose I will ever be "normal" at least my kids tell me I will never be nornal!). This morning when I first got up and went into the bathroom to wash, brush and floss I caught a glimpse of someone in the mirror and thought to myself "Good grief! Waht is that FAT, OLD Broad doing in here again?" before I realised it was ME! I don't feel like that fat old woman anymore!!! And I am SO excited to become the woman I feel like inside. It spurs me on to walk on the treadmill, to eat healthy, to do everything I can to make the most of what I have left to live in this life! I am EXCITED!

I think people do look down on and stereotype fat people. So I can't wait not to be judged by my bigness. But I know that being okay with me is really and inside job and no surgery can make me start loving myself. The surgery sure in the heck put me on the right path though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
