My doc said 600-800 in the losing phase and I'm not at goal yet so....I'm between 600-800. I don't get hungry so it's not difficult.

In my opinion that does seem high, I'm almost 8 months out and only if I eat sweets is the only way I'm over 1000 calories. I usually stay around 850 calories but I'm still a very slow loser.

Hmmmm....that concerns me. I can eat 1400 easily. Don't know that I could only do 800. I'm going to try and go to 1000. I eat about 250 per meal (3 meals) and then eat a few Snacks throughout day. Maybe if I go strictly veges during snack time it'll help..

My doctor worked for several years with the man who developed the sleeve. He has done them for 9 years. We are to consume 600-800 calories a day throughout the losing phase to maximize weight loss-especially because we only have a 6-9 month weight loss "honeymoon". I can't imagine eating 1400 calories (of course I can only eat 1/4 cup at a meal and I am stuffed :P ) I actually would be hard pressed to eat 800.

My doctor's gospel- and the one I will follow (and which has had such good results for Tiifykins, Little Miss Diva, Juliarh and the other mentors I want to emulate)

600-800 calories a day

> or = 30 carbs a day

at least 64 ounces of Water

60-80 grams of Protein a day

30 minute MINIMUM exercise a day

supplements

I have followed this to the letter since day 5 (couldn't get anything much down before then!) and so far am at 43 pounds lost at 6 weeks out. I am thrilled! I know it is not as much as some but I know better than to compare myself to others and I know my body will do what it does and as long as I follow the rules I will lose to MY maximum.

I notice you still have quite a bit to lose-I am surprised your nutritionist would have you up your calories with that being the case! Do you count carbs? Do you have a good exercise habit in place?

Good luck!

I was going to ask you about your carbs, that is basically the only way my calories get to high. I don't feel everyone needs to eat just 30 gram of carbs but I seldom go over 60. Again just my opinion I wouldn't eat just veges for your Snacks. Have a string cheese or other Protein, it should keep you feeling full longer. If I feel more hungry before my TOM, I up my Protein and my calories still stay low. Every one is different and has different needs, talk with your doctor again. I only lose 6-8 pounds a month, I've tried different things to lose faster but that is just how I lose, at least I'm still losing. Good luck

Well, my carbs are def too high. So, my goal is 60g per day now. Less if I can. My calories I am setting back to 800-1000. This will be difficult bc I have been eating 1400. BUT, most of the calories have been carbs. My weightloss has been about 6-8 mo eating 1400 but it's up one week, down another. I bought a treadmill yesterday to GUARANTEE I walk everyday. 30 min is what I'm starting at..hopefully up to an hour after my first month.

You might not have as much problem staying around 800-1000 calories if you lower your carbs. 60 and under in carbs is do-able. I try to stay away from bad carbs because it makes me feel hungry while Protein keeps me full and Protein always first. Your losing weight nicely but now is the time to choose the way we want to eat the rest of lives. High protein /low carb is something I can stick with. I just started walking 2 months ago and even though it hasn't made me loss any faster, I feel firmer and have more energy. You'll be fine, Janine

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
