6 days post op and my sleeve HATES cold stuff :(

Recommended Posts

Anyone experience this? If so, how long will it last. I DO NOT see me drinking a room temp Protein shake tomorrow....I REALLY wanted that sugar free fudgesicle. I'm on Nexium and Levsin (for spasms). BTW I'm OVER the whole clear liquid thing. Yes I'm whining but its where I am right now. My kids had the most delicious smelling meatballs with brown gravy and mashed potatos. I can't have the meatballs til week 5 :( Sorry for the pity party...Just not having a very good day.

Plus side I'm down 10lbs since surgery on the 16th!

Yes. Its mostly Water for me. I could drink a cold Protein Drink when allowed it after 10 days but now a year out still drink water at room temperature. I did well with hot herb tea and broth early out. It will get better. It's hard for me now to remember how hard it was just after surgery - boring more than anything

My sleeve isn't sensitive to anything, but I get low blood sugar VERY suddenly I am finding. I have to sip pretty regularly all day long to keep from getting some very unpleasant symptoms. I have had enough of thin liquids myself, but still have two weeks to go. At least the weight is coming off.

yes- cold in hosp. was bad...

warm is perfect-

I do add ice to my shake but only a few cubes.

I still pull Water from refrigerator and let it sit on counter to warm.

it feels as if thing will be back to normal soon.

I couldn't do cold at first but around day 9 it got better. I started that evening with a slushie then slowly started to add colder Protein Drinks during the mornings.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
