I think that's pretty normal at 4 days post op. For the pain with swallowing maybe try to drink things at different temperatures to see if that helps a little. Hang in there!

Yep, you are very normal, you had a major surgery and your body is healing..... it will get better!!!! You are walking, sipping and gas is coming out of you... that is all great!!!

Soon you will wake up one morning and actually feel good, and each day will be better!!

I am 3 days post-op and experiencing all that you are with the exception of the gas. I think if I could release some gas my world would be a lot better. I can feel it rumbling around in there but I just can't get it out. As for pain when you swallow, I have this somewhat. Its a kind of a delayed reaction and not immediate. It basically feels like I'm having a muscle cramp then goes away. I had to have a hernia repair at the same time so I thought maybe this might be some of the cause of the extra pain. Good luck, I think we are going to make it! lol

Don't worry about that gas!! All that rumbeling will break loose and it will turn into the screamin' me-me's!!

I had HORRIBLE gas from surgery. For 3 days I was in so much pain I could not sit up straight or take a deep breath! Then it all went south and rumble rumble in lower stomach. I passes some LOUD gas!! Then, I trusted one fart too many and paid for it BIG TIME!!

So, if you get to tootin' do it over the toilet! I know TMI, but trust me, you don't want to be sorry later! LOL

Kelly :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
