Ok..my surgery date was Friday May 6, almost three weeks and I am still 180 ish ( up 1 down 1) I am following my dr plan exactly. I am on mushys, getting 64 oz Water and walking 45 min a day.........I tried going up a little with fat, ...with cals.....now what? I am afraid I will not lose any weight, or not as much as I want. I expected around 10 lbs a month. Is this reasonable? Uggggg anyone else have a stall right in the beginning? I am really disappointed. It effects my whole day and additude.

You are right on the edge of the 3 week stall. Most people have this happen. You can search it on here. There are few that don't go through it.smile.gif

You body is just in shock. Give it time to readjust its electrolites and fluids. Dont give up at all, it will come off.

Up your Water intake a few more oz if you can, you may still be "bloated" from the surgery. Mix things up a bit, through in a few squats or lunges durning your walk. make your body guess.

It WILL come off. just one of many plateaus to go through on your journey.

Good luck!!

I hit my stall around the same time. I adjusted my diet (lowered my carb intake to less than 30 grams a day) and increased my Water intake dramatically to 80-96 ounces of day. That got things moving and they haven't stopped. I have been averaging about 15 pounds a month.

Ugh the dreaded stalls. We all go through them. It will be fine. You will eventually drop. Try not to stress, and enjoy your journey...hugs :)

Ps try NOT to weigh everyday, that's stressful, and does NOT help

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
