Let's Talk: Post Op Acne

Recommended Posts

SO, My skin is starting to remind me of my first initial break outs when I was 11 or 12. OMG, my face looks awful! I'm going to see a dermatologist next Wednesday and I know it's because of all the crazy hormones that this is happening I'm just hoping that he can help me out cause I feel weird with all this roughness going on lol. Anyone in the same boat???

I'm 1 month PRE-op and have noticed an increase in the number of pimples on my neck and face & have wondered if it's from the Protein Shakes which I've been having for Breakfast. I have never had any real issues with my skin (clear, fair, and dry) and am very curious to know how the sleeve, diet changes, and hormones have affected others' skin and what has been effective in treating the problem. Thanks!

I made a post about this as well. I assumed it was hormones. It wasn't horrible acne, just a few pimples here and there. but now my face has cleared up lol. could be i am getting more Water in, and i started eating food (mushies). but ya, if it starts back up again, to the dermatologist i go

My skin has never been better...I have attributed it to 1. Eating better, 2. Looking better, and wanting to look even better so taking care of my skin (3 steps morning and night), and 3. Getting in a good amount of fluids.

I hope you get answers...skins issues can be stressful.

I've always had acne even before surgery but the older I get the less pimples I have, but since surgery- it's like pretty bad. I drink about 70oz of Water a day and as far as my diet, I still kinda stick with the soft solids even though I'm at 6wks post op and I now can add more but Idk, it's strange. I hope that I can finally get it under control, well back under control lol. Thanks for posting!

I've noticed an increase too. And big cystic acne! My skin is drier but I'm lacking in fluids some days.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
