It turns out I am going alone to tj Mexico to have my sleeve surgery. Am I Crazy? Anyone out there do this on their own. How had was it? Will the driver check your bag for you when dropping you off at airport?

I went with my hubby, so he took care of the bags. The driver didn't park up and just dropped us off at departures. Pack very little, I didn't need half the stuff I took with me to the hospital. Slippers, dressing gown, underwear and toiletries are the main things you need. I barely ready anything as I was so sleepy after the anesthetic. Also consider getting yourself a small case on wheels.

Maybe you can check with your surgery co-ordinator if you can get any assistance until you're checked in - always easiest to ask before you've paid! cool.gif

I went to MX by myself and it was a breeze. There are so many doctors and nurses to assist you PLUS your coordinator. Get a good phone card or Skype and you will be fine.

No, you are not crazy. My mom is joining me while my husband stays home with the kids. I would have gone by myself if my mom didn't want to come.

I went alone and was fine. I didn't take any checked baggage, everything I needed fit in my carry-on's and I stayed for 10 days. You really will not need to take much with you and you wont want to pack around a bunch of luggage so I would recommend you pack very lightly. My coordinator took care of everything I needed while I was there. Not sure who your doctor or coordinator is. Maybe you could contact others who went to the same doctor to get a better idea of how their experience was. Good luck on your surgery!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
