I don't vomit on anything, but I noticed that steak and pork are very hard for me to eat. I feel like I can't chew them enough to get them down. chicken feels fine.

You may want to start with very slow roasted or crock-pot meats. They are a lot softer. Also, cut it into tiny pieces and use a little sauce.

GOod luck!

I'm 3 months out. I tried beef fajita meat, and it didn't feel so good going down. Moist, lean steak cut up small is okay for me, and so is chicken thighs/breasts, pork, and ground beef/turkey.

ETA: There's always good ol' Tuna!

I am also 2 month's out tomorrow, but I am having NO issues eating any meats. You may want to stick with tuna or canned chicken for awhile longer. You may just be healing slower. Also, the tiny bite suggestion may do the trick as well. I have read in some doc's guides to cut your meat into the size of a n eraser on the end of a pencil.

Sorry you're having such a hard time with meat...how are you doing on the rest of the foods you have tried?

My doc said to avoid red meat for 6 months following surgery because our new tummies don't take to it well, so I'm planning to follow that advice. If I do happen to have red meat, it will likely be ground beef and not steak which is tougher; especially since I like mine well which my hubby calls shoe leather!! :)

I have a really hard time with chicken... unless its really moist - it must have sauce or gravy otherwise it gets stuck and come back up.

It was around 5-6 months before I could comfortably eat steak or pork without chooping it into tiny pieces and going real slow. Don't fret though, I had nice 4 oz of ribeye just this week and don't have to worry eating it in any special way--pretty normal now just able to split 8oz with the wife and feel nice and full.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
