Wow, 22 lbs in 9 days is a lot, good on you! And, of course, keep us updated!

I see that you are diabetic, so am I. I am type 1 and have only had to take minimal insulin since surgery. Are you taking insulin? Thank you for the support and I will definitely keep everyone informed on my weight loss.

Hey Krzy, Congrats on surgery and 22 pounds!!!! WOW  I can't wait till I can post something similar! I won't meet with my surgeon until 5/9, but supposedly I'll get a surgery date then. I'm also a type 1 diabetic (28 years). I've been using an insulin pump for about 12 years now and LOVE it! How much insulin were you on before surgery & now? Was/is it tough getting your insulin adjusted before/after surgery? I know, I'm full of questions, I hope you don't mind...

Congrats again!!!

Wendy

I was on an insulin pump for about 4 yrs. before my surgery, but I have not been on it since the surgery. I was taking about 35 units a day but it was the U-500 Regular insulin (5 times stronger than regular R insulin). I am now taking maybe 2 units a day. Of course I do not mind you asking questions that is what we are all here for! If I can help you through this process at all, just ask!!! I was so nervous before my surgery and I would love to help you any way I can. Once you get your surgery date it goes by quicker than you would think! My surgeon asked me to take my pod off before surgery, but after surgery my sugar shot up to 450. My advice to you would be to take extra pump supplies in case you need to put a pod in after surgery for a short while. I did not take extra supplies and I was 2 hours away from home. I had cotton mouth soooo bad and you cannot chug Water after your surgery...only ice chips and very few of those. It took them a long time to get my sugar down and I was miserable until they did. Now, hopefully I haven't talked your ear off....lol. Good luck and keep me posted with your surgery date.

Congratulations! And I'm glad it's helping your diabetes. I've seen folks on here end up completely off their medications; I think most of them are Type 2, but even so going down that much in just over a week is exciting.

I was sleeved same day as you and haven't lost anything, but I have an adrenal condition and had to have buckets of steroids the day of surgery and the next couple days. I'm still dumping the fluids from that! Plus I had miracle loss on the liquid diet. I teased my doctor that made this week my three week stall. But the sleeve is gonna make this work where it never has before.

I'm soo happy for you.

WOW....35 lbs. You are doing excellent! I hope I continue to lose well because I have not lost much at all in the last couple of days. I am happy that it has helped my diabetes though. Well, good luck on your weightloss journey and keep in contact with me sleeve sister...lol.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
