can`t use the restroom

Go to a drug store and get some benefiber. A lot of people here use Miralax but benefiber is less harsh on your system. You need to increase your Water intake too. It really helps because you are mostly on Proteins.

my dr. says that for the first 2 weeks, nothing down the throat to treat constipaiton. if you TRUELY are constipated it must be an enema!

make sure that you are really constipated!! simply not going doesn't mean that you are. you are not eating much and only doing liquid at this point. your body doesn't have much if any waste to get rid of.

contstipation is bloating and feeling like you have to go but can't. oh, and it really hurts and is uncomfortable!

so, don't just take stuff thinking you should be producing unless you are TRUELY constipated. that will just cause other issues later!

kelly ;)

I don't think I had my first bm until about 4-5 days post op. Drink apple juice and plenty of fluids. For the next couple of weeks, I only go 1x every 2-3 days. I'm not constipated, just takes that long to work itself out. This seems to vary for lots of people, I wouldn't suggest taking anything yet either, but you can always call your Dr to see what they rec. Good luck!

I didn't have a BM until 6 days after surgery. I still don't have a BM for 3 days at a time.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
