Did you monitor your body temperature ?

Recommended Posts

My mind is wondering again. After surgery and you were home, did you monitor your temperature to see if you were running a fever? I am curious as to how many ran a fever post surgery and for how long? How high was your temperature?

Thanks.

I think it is wise to do so for a week or so after. I did and that was what helped me realize I had an infection that luckily was caught early enough to only need antibiotics....I averaged about 99.2-3 before the infection and it spiked to 100.9 when I began to feel something was wrong.

I'm monitoring mine (so far so good - it has crept up to 98.6 from my normal 97.5 only once). It is not unusual to have temperature fluctuations or even a slight fever, but my surgeon has a fever of 100.5 as a reason to alert the office even if there are no other symptoms. It can be the best early signal of an infection.

Just remember it's not unusual for your temperature to go up some, especially at night.

I do the same and do it multiple times a day.. I fluctuate between 96-98.6.. I also take my blood pressure morning and night(worked in the medical field). It definitely gives me peace of mind that's for sure. After having a complication.

I got these stickers that register body temp from walgreens for my two year old, but they work great to constantly monitor temp and each sticker last 24 hours you just stick it to your forehead they are in the baby section and shaped like bugs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
