Boston area Mass Health

Recommended Posts

Hey, I know of a bunch of people who tried, and if thats your only insurance they dont usually cover it. If you have commercial Mass health, which is through your employer and often called Mass health gold ppo, you may want to look into it, Im not sure about that one.

If you have a main or secondary ins. ie: Medicare, they sometimes pay for the surgery and mass health will pick up the rest. It all depends on your current medical conditions and BMI. I would call them directly for more info.

Hope this info was helpful.

I live in Massachusetts, however the Springfield area. I have heard people saying that their Mass Health was not covering the band in this area. I would call and ask, also make sure you have your weight issues documented with your primary care doctor. Good Luck!!

Thanks for the info, I knew going into this with Masshealth as my insurance that Id probably have a hard time, just wanted to see if anyone else was able to have the surgery with the same insurance. Looks like I will have a fight ahead of me or have to self-pay, but either way, Im worth it. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
