Do you remember "Elsie the Cow?' Well...my surgeon must have replaced my old tummy with hers because I have been grazing all day! I am so very disappointed in myself. Not sure if I have been fighting head hunger all day or real hunger. But I certainly took in too many calories, fat, carbs, etc...

I DO NOT WANT TO SABATOGE MY NEW SLEEVE!! Anyone else having the same problem 4 1/2 weeks post-op? :(

Hey Can'tWeight-

I've definitely had a day or two where I've caught myself slipping into the graze routine as well. For me, it often occurs when I am around family gatherings because my family is so food centric. I noticed myself doing this about the same place you are- 4 1/2 weeks. To combat, I put my food journal back into practice and have made myself write down every bite. In this last week our district notified 550 teachers that they were being non-renewed next year due to a budget crisis. In the midst of this stress, I wanted to revert to old ways and mindlessly munch so badly! But, I think the plan I put into place helped me stay on track.

I think the victory here is that you recognized the behavior which will allow you to look for triggers or weakness areas so you can develop a plan to overcome. It's also important that you don't beat yourself up for today's eating. It was an opportunity for you to learn so that you can be successful for life. You're gonna get this tool figured out! We have to have a little trial and error to get it right at first. :)

Best of luck getting back on track!

Amanda

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
