HELP! Approved BUT consecutive years of employment not met for the healthcare provider

Recommended Posts

I have been approved for the VSG surgery and have my surgery date however my nurse manager told me that my healthcare provider has a requirement that the employee has to be employed 2 consecutive years with their company. Well it's my husband's company and they were bought out in in 2009 and he was told that his time of service was grandfather over to the new company which he has worked for his company for 10yrs, so I thought no problem. But I called the new company's HR and they stated that they show his affective hire date with the new company as Oct 2010.

So at this point he's not meeting the requirement of 2 consecutive years with the new company. I don't know what to do - my surgery date is in jeopardy and I waited so long for this day. And now it seems that if I wanted it done I will have to pay for it with money I do not have!!

Is there ANYONE who has gone through this? Is there a way around it?? PLEASE let me know what I can do or some options!

My question is... how can you be approved but not approved? Who gave you the approval? Your surgeon or your insurance company? In order for me to be officially approved, I had to get a pre-authorization letter from my insurance company.

Yes, I rec'd my pre-authorization letter from the insurance company and it stated I am approved! My nurse manager confirmed it as well!

Thats just crazy! I would find out if the authorization is a legal document... Perhaps you can get your husband status changed with HR.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
