One of the best decisions I ever made!

Recommended Posts

My name is Courtney and I am 33 years old. I had the vertical Sleeve done on March 16, 2011 and I am down around 30 pounds and my BMI dropped 4 points in two weeks! I didn't tell a lot of people about my surgery before I had it because so many people around me have such negative attitudes towards things, but I have sung the praises of this surgery since then! I was very lucky that I didn't have to go through all sorts of pre op testing or insurance bull and I wish that all people who needed this surgery didn't have to go through all that stuff. I feel so much better, I can walk without having trouble breathing and my hips don't hurt anymore :) I can actually play with my three children and ENJOY it!!! I wish everyone thinking of having a WLS the best of luck!

Woo Hoo- you're doing fabulous!!! 30lbs in 4 weeks- wow! I had surgery the same day and am only down 12lbs. I had some Water weight to lose from being hooked up to fluids 4 days and lost that as well but only 12 down from pre-op weight. Glad you are feeling so good and enjoying time with your kiddos. :D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
