Is this normal?

Recommended Posts

I am 1.5 weeks post op (be 2 on Thursday) and today I am trying to tidy up all my kids toys and stuff. When I bend over and stand back up I get very light headed and almost weak knee'd feeling... Is this normal? Overdoing it? Something I should be concerned about?

I seem to recall my husband being dehydrated once and feeling similar, I am worried about that... does anyone know if that is a symtom?

Thanks!!

I hit my 2 week post-op on Friday and am very hesitant to bend all the way over to the floor. Squatting is better. I don't know what is causing you to be dizzy but if you get dizzy bending over, I'd stop bending over. Not be a smartie, but just seriously, be careful. It never hurts to call your doctor and express the concern. He might tell you it's normal.

Be sure you are getting enough protein! Remember you are probably on liquids or mushies and you must be sure to get in enough liquids (64 oz) and get your Proteins. I am about a month out and had this happen one time but I didn't think I was eating enough. I felt better when I ate something. If it happens several times you should definitely call your dr. better safe than sorry! Good luck!

Your food intake is super low these days. Take it easy, and slow down. Drink an extra protien shake a day, if you can, or get you some Egg Drop Soup (yummmm) at the Chinese Take-out. I felt tons better when I drank that. You need hydraton and nutrition, as best you can. What you did was normal...but keep an eye out. If it feels worse than just "odd" or if it feels like something is "wrong" (you know the difference) then call your doc! Keep us posted!!!!

I would check with your Dr., but I was very weak until I was back on food. I never tried to bend over at 2 weeks. Go with the squat.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
