Life Before and After Surgery

Recommended Posts

Okay people,

Here is whats going on with me one week after my surgery. First off, pre-op I was weighing 350 lbs. I put on alot of weight after I got home from Kuwait in Feb 09. ( When I joined the Army in Sept 96' I was weighing 220 lbs, after Basic Training 185lbs, When I got out of active duty in Sept 2000, I was at 215 lbs. Three months after that I weighed in at 230lbs and joined the Army National Guard, When I was deployed in 2003-2005, before the deployment I was 285lbs, after the Deployment I was 235lbs. We came home and the weight found me again and I went up to 250 lbs by the time I got a new job in law enforcement. We work swing/rotating shifts so the weight just kept find me and before long I was over the 300 lbs mark. In 2008 I was deployed a second time to Kuwait. Half way through my deployment I messed up my back really bad. But I was working out 6 days a week for 2 hours a day. Was down to 270 lbs. By the time the deployment ended I was back to 285lbs. When I returned home and back to work I went from that 285 lbs to 350lbs.) and as of today I'm 307.. I'm hoping to be right at or below 280 by the time I get back to 280 lbs.

My goal wieght is 200-215 lbs. I'm hoping to hit that weight by the end of the year...cross your fingers..

More to come..

Dominic

I know all about the weight rollercoaster. It's emotional and no matter how much you run from it, that damn weight always seems to find you. Good thing is, with the sleeve, you now have a fair fight against it!

I wish you luck in your continuing battle to fight it and keep it off!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
