Finally broke my stall!!

Recommended Posts

I've been stalled since the end of February and this morning I finally lost another pound!!

I was stuck at 260 and really wanted to be in the 250s but my body wasn't having any of it. I increased my exercise, Water intake and Protein and that seemed to do the trick! I officially weighed in at 259.0 this morning. Yeah!! biggrin.gif

I'm going to Las Vegas in about 5 1/2 weeks and I'd really like to lose another 15-18 pounds by then so I'm going to focus on increasing my exercise slowly over the next month or so. My goal for April 7 is to be 250 but I'm going to try to surpass that.

At the gym I'm currently doing a 10 minute warm-up on the bike, 20 minutes on the elliptical (an increase from 15), and 30 minutes on the treadmill (an increase from 20). I will increase my time on the elliptical and treadmill next week by about 5 minutes. Hopefully, this will help boost my weight loss. I also do walking or dancing exercise videos at home if I don't make it to the gym. I had to take a look at what I was eating also and realized that I was eating a bit too many carbs. My dr. doesn't have a prescribed amount of carbs that I should eat but he does emphasize eating protein first, then any veggies (which I really can't have yet), then unprocessed carbs. I am going to be cutting back a bit on carbs and see if that will help.

Take care,

I am so glad you broke your stall. I have found cutting the carbs does help when you are in a stall. Your workout plan is great! That should get those pounds dropping! Have fun when you go to Vegas.

Thanks Becca and Amy!

I lost another pound today so I'm hoping my stall is officially over. I'm going to be very pleased if I have a sustainable 1-2 pound loss per week. I'm going to go walk on the beach today for a different type of exercise. Have a great day!!

Yea Genepha!!!! I remember my how horrible it felt when I was trapped in my 3 week long stall, I thought "jeez not even surgery can me". However, I remember even more clearly when the stall finally broke and I was back on the downward slope, what a relief!!! Congratulations on your loss, best wishes for continued success :)

Congrats on saying good-bye to the 260s! It seems like I always stall when I am close to breaking into a lower bracket. It seemed like I would lose great then I'd hit a pound above the number I wanted to get below and stay there for a week or two. the first one was getting below 500. I stayed a couple pounds above forever. But when I went below it was by several pounds. This last one was getting below 450. I was at 458 then 453 then 451 then, all of a sudden I hit 443 then 440. 300s here I come. Hopefully breaking that magic number will keep you motivated and show you that you can do it.

So after all my pep talks about not having a stall, I HAD ONE! But, I have been working out like a crazy person and I think I gained muscle. I also think that I was really dehydrated which made my body hold onto Water. I finally dropped a half a pound in the last ten days. NO BUENO! But, i think that I was still losing inches. I decided I am going to take my body fat and measurments, that way when I am in the middle of a stall I can still be encouraged if my body fat goes down and I am losing inches. Glad to hear you are on the way down Genepha. Missed you! I haven't been on in forever!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
