I feel like something is wrong

Recommended Posts

Well, I thought I was doing pretty well, but now I'm not so sure. On March 27th, I will be 6 months out and I've lost about 70-ish lbs. Normally, I would be pretty excited about that but then I come here and there are people who are already at -100lbs in less time. I'm taking my Vitamins and keeping my calories around 800. I'm not entirely sure where I'm slipping up at......

you should never compare yourself to others . . . we all lose at different rates. . . some of us had much higher Bmi's which will loose faster and some lose slower. . . can you imagine what a world this would be if we were all the same? Your doing very well. . . congratulations! Keep up the great work. . . pat yourself on the back for a fabulous job well done!

I have been a very slow loser and let me tell you, it messes with the head when you read things on here. You have to take in to account ones own metabolism,,, males loose a LOT faster than woman and some of us loose at much slower rates.

Now I want you to think of this, on what diet at anytime did you ever lose the average of 11 pounds a month??????? Stop focusing on how fast and more OH WOW look what I have done!

I have learned not to compare myself with others. I may be losing slower that others, but I am losing and I Celebrate every pound. Your loss is a HUGE success. Please give yourself credit!!!:D

I agree with not comparing yourself, but there's a few things you look at and see if you can tweak things to get the scale moving.

Are you counting carbs, Protein, and calories? If so, where are your number? If carbs are high, cut them for a week or so, and increase Protein.

Are you getting in all your clear fluids? If not, push fluids.

Are you working out? If so, are taking in enough calories to offset what you are burning? If not, you may need to tweak your calorie intake.

What does your fat intake look like? I never had fat guidelines, and I lost the most when I didn't fret over fat intake. I wasn't taking in huge amounts of fats or anything, but I kept carbs super low and that's what kept me losing on a regular pace.

I totally agree with you! How many carbs do you allow yourself per day?

During my losing stage, I never ate more than 30gr of carbs for the first 4 months, then my surgeon wanted me to slow down my losing so I bumped it up to 40-50gr per day. I still lost at the same rate so it didn't matter. Now that I've been in maintenance for nearly a year, I honestly do not count anything except Protein and calories. I keep white carbs in moderation, but if I want mashed potatoes, I eat mashed potatoes. There is no particular food group I deprive myself of, and I do much better with moderation over deprivation. My body is not carb sensitive so I have zero issue eating carbs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
