What kind of pre-op diet are you on? I hear it varies from surgeon to surgeon.

Man, that is tough though. The pre-op is when yo know it's really happening, and it's just the beginning.

Good luck and hang tough.

I am just about done with Day 4, and all I can say is Day 1 was the hardest for me so far. But just think about the end goal, how much safer it will be for your surgeon to work, a decrease risk of complications, and how happy and proud of yourself you will be tomorrow when you wake up on Day 2 knowing you did it! Stick to the plan, find something to do, and it will pass. The hunger pains suck, but being overweight is suckier, so do it just for this short period and then think of the reward of the surgery making those hunger pains go away!

Thanks!!!!! Day 1 is almost done with and I am sooooooooooooooooooo happy i did not cheat! I must say this is the most Water intake I have had in a very long time I had to drank over 90 oz of water or more! Which is good but that was due to all that hunger pain!!!!!!! LOL I guess I tried to feel my belly one way or another lol!!! I must admit the Atkins shakes are good!!! I hope I do even better tomorrow!

Today was day one of my pre-op diet as well. I am sooooooo disappointed in myself. I did great, and to be honest I wasn't even that hungry. Then I came home from work....still not really hungry. I made my 3rd shake of the day and drank it. Then I saw the bag of cheez itz. Crap, I had like 4 of them. I just gave in. I was SO MAD at myself!! I wanted to be so strict and I couldn't even get through day 1!!! Tomorrow is another day. I have an easy plan even. I have to drink 4 to 5 Protein Shakes a day PLUS I get to have one meal that is 300 calories. I called my doc and asked if I had to drink all 4 shakes or if I could skip it if I wasn't hungry. They told me I had to drink all 4. I thought that was really weird! I also asked if I could eat a Subway 6 in. Turkey that is less than 300 calories and they said anything is fine as long as it stays under 300 calories! Wow! I was shocked. I think I will do better the rest of the week. I have been really getting nervous about it and surgery next Monday.

Today was day 1 on the pre-op diet for me and it actually wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I only had 2 shakes today, lots of Water and 2 eggs. My surgeon said that I can either have 1 egg & 1 cheese stick or 2 of either one.

I'm planning on trying to get in my 4 shakes tomorrow but that might be kinda hard since I'll be getting my pre-op testing done from 7:30 am - who knows when!

We can do it! Only 13 more days until surgery for me!

Today was my 1st day of the diet too, all Protein Drink and Water. It wasn't too bad as far as hunger, but I was nauseous. Anybody else have that?

For me day one was hard, but day two was a real son of bitch! once I got past day two I was kinda in a grove, or zone, it wasn't easy, but it wasn't near as hard as day two.

Just hang in there, and get through it, in the end its so worth it!!

Usually the first three days are the hardest. When you go pretty much from unlimited carbs to virtually none your body gets a little pissy. You get head aches you go into uncontrolled hunger. If you can make it the first three day I think yall will do fine. Keep up your head and just remember to be strong. Will power at this point is going to be key..

I also have been nauseous. My daughter actually is sick and threw up last night, so I just figured I have what she has, but maybe not! Weird! I do great at work. The problem is when I come home. I want just a little tiny something tp eat. It helps reading what everyone is writing. I just want Monday to get here and be over with already! THis might be the longest week ever! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
