Where are the 50s ???

Recommended Posts

Robin - sorry to hear about your snag. I was originally going to take 2 wks off, but I was and still am so easily fatigued and tire quickly, that I'm taking a full 4 wks off. I do know a lot of people went back to work very quickly, so it all depends on how you are feeling at the time.

nannie - I'm so new, I'll be interested in hearing what others have to say about that.

Joni you are lucky to be able to take the time. I am self employed and will be home on June 15th and have to and I mean have to be back to work on the following Monday. I am not too worried about that. I am worried about the 12 hours flying and stop overs at airports to get home ugg.

I'm right with you there, Nannie. It's so easy to snack and gain a few and almost impossible to take it back off. It's maddening.

Kat - Make sure you have Protein available for your flight and stops! I'll be thinking of you and rooting you on!!! You'll be fine, don't worry - I know there are plenty on this site that have done the same. Maybe you should post something for their feedback?

New topic for us over 50's.....or anyone!!!! I have heard that after the sleeve, people tend to be cold(er) all the time.......Question: how long after surgery does this happen? ....... i am always hot - hate to be in the sun - just adds that much more heat. When i sleep i have to have a fan blowing on me and only use a sheet (if even that)....i am 2 weeks post-op today and it still has not happened... Does it depend on the weight loss? just needing a little info.... Thanks

Yes you do get cold! It was a gradual thing with me ...the more I lost the colder I got. I sleep with shirt, sweatpants and socks...always cold.....sorry wifey :) No complaints here though...Nobody said it would be perfect surgery for us in every way!

Thanks Joni

I am nervous about going myself and scared too. My husband feels terrible that I have to do this alone but I am determined to do this. Must remember my Water and Protein Drinks for down and back.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
