What laxative is safe at 2 weeks post op?

Recommended Posts

I am wondering what laxative is safe and effective at 2 weeks post op. Do they pose any danger to the sleeve/stomach?

I didn't go to the bathroom 2 weeks post op. I was afraid to take anything so I just let nature take its course. But I use miralax and have had no problems with it.

Miralax is great..You can mix it in crystal light or flavored water. It has no taste and dissolve well. I also use Smooth Move Tea a few times a week just to keep things regular.

I just heard about some tea they sell at Kroger here and another you can find at Walmart. The WM one had Senna in it (which makes sense since Sennacot (sp?) is a laxative or still softener. I'll find the names and post them. I plan to stock up just in case. :)

Just to clarify: I am not suggesting these at 2 weeks out, I am pre-surg and profess no knowledge of what your doc will suggest. Tiffy's advice rings very true not to put too much stress on yourself at this point and she is definitely a veteran. I just heard about these this morning at work and was excited to share my new 'knowledge' because this seems to be an issue a lot of people struggle with and I am rarely able to add anything of any significance other than the occasional attaboy or thank you, ma'am. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
