Farewell to pasta

I recently tried some elbow macaroni, with a little meat sauce, this was my first Pasta since surgery, nearly 7 months ago. No sooner had I swallowed then I got the uncomfortable feeling that acts as a *warning!* *warning!* *danger ahead!* feeling. Thank goodness I had the strength to stop eating it. Also, it wasn't tasty.

Weird, I've been able to eat Pasta without a problem for months. Never tried elbow macaroni, either. But I agree, if it's not tasty AND isn't good for you, why bother eating it?

I haven't tried any yet but have been thinking about it a lot lately!! Honestly, I do hope that it's either unsettling or not good just so I can wrap my brain around that I don't want it anymore! LOL

After discovering I was sensitive to gluten 5 months ago I stopped eating it. Before surgery I was searching the grocery shelves for gluten free alternatives to try. I found some gluten free noodles. My son (the chef) prepared them for dinner one night. They tasted a little bland, but the biggest difference we noticed was the texture. He did not over cook them, but they still broke apart easily and were very digestable.

I wasn't big on eating Pasta before surgery because of the carbs and don't plan to consume alot post surgery, but there are times I would enjoy eating a small serving. Also, I think about hubby who hasn't had surgery and can tolerate gluten, and I hate to deprive him of his Pasta. So this may be an alternative you could consider.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
