One of my staples ... for lack of a better term, "slipped" as my skin necroted (if I spelled that right) away from the suture line. My dr just moved me up to full liquids yesterday late afternoon and I had the final drain removed! I haven't been "wire free" since IDK when so I'm happy, it's GREAT taking a shower and to be "free" of everything. I AM struggling with moving to another phase of food though (my tummy's acting weird... it feels like it 'contracts' whenever I've eaten soup or cream of wheat). Thanks for asking (Artsy specifically! smile). It's a pleasure to meet you all.... How are you guys doing? I hope wonderful!

I am so sorry that happened to you...and glad you are getting better.

TY so much beautifulnewme.... I wish you the best of luck in your WLS journey too btw!

Good luck to you Jani on your surgery! Be positive and know my prayers for an easy surgery and recovery are with you!

Belton, TX....an hour from Austin.

Hi,

I'm in Springtown, west of Ft. Worth. I've been to Belton a few times we used to live in Copperas Cove.

Hello 4mydogs! I've lived in the Belton area for about 24 years. I also lived in Copperas Cove for about 1 year. Good luck in your journey!!!

I'm in Cedar Park (NW Austin). I just got my financing approved & have my consultation on 4/28 and am hoping to have my surgery in May.

Im in Hallettsville - about 2 hours from san antonio, austin, and houston. Had my surgery 2 weeks ago today, on april 2.

Not questioning the sleeve... Convinced more then ever that I need my gut cut down to size! Dr. Kim is a good "surgeon", but people are not happy with his bedside manner and I am NOT excited about forking over $200 for 2 weeks of the protein shakes he requires. Especially with how picky I am about protein shakes.

Maybe I misunderstand the law, but I did not think a doctor could force a product on you while providing medical treatment if he stands to profit...it is the same thing as taking kick-backs from a pharmacy. They can sell them, and promote them, but not force them.

Anyone familiar enough with the jurisprudence of this to elaborate? I am very interested.

I'm in Waxahachie, Dr Kuhn on 3/22

I loved Dr Kuhn & George. I have had multiple abdominal surgeries & I saw eight surgeons in the DFW area. (Kim, Idhe, Barker, Veninga, Roy, Alexander, Benevinedes, and Kuhn). This was a two year journey for me. Band, By-Pass, or Sleeve and could it be done laproscopically. Dr Kuhn was the only one who would even try to do it that way, which saved me $10K and a week in the hospital.

He is the most experienced surgeon in DFW. He pioneered band to sleeve revision. I can't say enough good things.

Medical City is great also.

I had a very positive experience.
