Dizziness and flight back home

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I will have VSG on Feb 5 in Mexico and coming back to Canada in 4 days. My main convcerns are dizziness and pain.

Can you all share with me if you felt dizzy or fainty after 3 days (due to low food intake, low BP, etc) or if you had fainting episodes. Also, how was the flight back? Pain? Dizziness?

I appreciate all your answers so I can be better prepared. i am really converned about being dizzy.

thanks

I was obviously a little dizzy the DAY OF the surgery from the anesthetics, but after that it's pretty smooth sailing. I walked around the airport in Mexico waiting for my plane and didn't experience any dizziness until a couple weeks later when I stood up too fast.

I wasn't dizzy and I had no pain. It was a little uncomfortable sitting due to my abdomen full of gas, but no biggie.

I did not have any pain going back home from Mexico. No dizziness either. You will be fine. To me airplan seats are uncomfortable anyway, but it was no more uncomfortable after surgery than before. Were loose sweats or pants and you should do great. All the best.

I had a 2 hour flight home. I had some pain, but it was tolerable.

If available, ask for wheelchair assistance from ticketing to your gate (you get priority in the security line!) ... Also, ask for a pillow when you first get on the plane - it will help if you get uncomfortable in the seat - you can use it to prop yourself a bit.

If you think nausea/dizziness may be a problem for you, ask your surgeon for some medicine/tips for helping you through. I'm sure you are not the first one that has had this concern.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
