African American Sleevers

Recommended Posts

I haven't tried anything warm. I can tolerate crystal light lemonade and GNC chocolate lean Protein Shakes so I happy for now.

I'm glad that you found something that you can tolerate. I was lucky I didn't have any complications whatsoever. My husband who had his surgery June 24, 2013 was regretting it, I told him that I didn't think that this was right for him, but all that he could see was the weight loss.

I'm in New Orleans area too. Maybe we can get together for walking or support group. I plan to attend the August 13th session at Ochsner if you want to meet.

That would be nice; I found out that Humana received my paperwork on July 29th. The waiting game has begun.

It does get better. Your stomach is still swollen, you will be able to taken in more when the swelling goes down. Sip, sip, sip and sip some more. Sipping and walking together helped me out a great deal.

Awesome. I hope we can be as supportive to you as you've been to all of us.

By the way I'm a Michigander, too.

When I was first sleeved it took me an hour to drink 8oz of Protein. I would drink all day long from 8 AM to 2 AM to get in my 64 ounces and 70 grams of protein because I didn't want to get dehydrated and yes it hurt if I drank to fast, so you do have to sip all day long.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
