Hi all,

OK, this is a very silly question, but I haven't seen it addressed anywhere and I am really curious. It's about underwear. I know there will be multiple incisions, and I was curious if that means you're not supposed to wear underwear (bras and panties) for at least the first day after surgery. Or is it OK to do so as long as it's not tight?

It will help me to know how many pairs of underwear I should pack for my trip. Thanks for answering this -- I feel like a ninny for even asking!

The lowermost incision will be at your bellybutton, so any underwear should be fine...unless you like to pull yours up all the way to your bra, haha.

I put mine on as soon as I could. I was tired of people coming in to check my incisions or drain and lifting up my gown and feeling very underdressed!!

I also put mine on asap but my bra is another story. My surgery was a week ago tomorrow and I wear a sleep bra(left over from pregnancy) most of the time because my highest incision hits my bra. It is a small incision and healing great but it is just a little unnerving.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
