Maybe a weird question...Do hooded eyelids go away????

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

This may seem like a weird question but I really wanna know....Have anyone here had problems with hooded eyelids while they were over weight? If so, did the "hood" even out after becoming slimmer?

I ask because when I was younger/slimmer, I was able to apply eye make-up with no problems but once I became overweight, I developed this loose skin drooping over my eyelid which obviously interferes with the make-up application.

I hope I don't come off as vain...It makes me kinda sad to have this...I hope that it goes away!!!

Anyway, if you have the same problem, had sucess with the problem or have a solution for me please let me know.

Thanks!!

Angel

Mine were hereditary but interefered with my peripheal vision so my insurance paid for it. They did tests & pictures to preapprove it. My opthalmologist did it in-office & I had black & blue eyes for about 2 weeks. I had it done over 5 yrs ago and very glad to have did it. Here's to being "hoodless!"

Hello Luanne!

Thanks for the reply.

My eyelids aren't altering my vision..at least not yet so insurance wont pay for it but I am still interested in getting them fixed after goal weight...

Did they put you to sleep for the procedure? Was it painful? Do you have any before and after photos that you wouldn't mind sharing with me?

Thanks

You just never know if you would be covered or not...I would definitely go to an opthamoligist & have him look at you if you have insurance. He used a local & it was an office call. My eyelids was sore a few days, that's it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
