pre op appointment

Recommended Posts

Well, I guess it varies depending on your surgeon and other medical conditions but I had

an ekg,

upper gi,

gall bladder ultra sound,

lots and lots of blood work,

two pregnancy tests,

2 nutritional classes,

5 meetings with nutritionist,

I was required to loss 10% of excess body weight (for me it was 10 pounds),

support group attended,

and a pysch evaluation.

Hope that answers your question. Good luck to you.

I blogged about my consultation: http://theamazingdisappearingme.blogspot.com/2010/10/consultation.html

Basically, they took my weight, gave me an exam and went over insurance requirements. I already knew that I wanted the sleeve, so we didn't really go over options. They put me on what they call the Fast Track because I have minimal insurance requirements and no serious health issues. They gave me a list of things to do. I already knew some of them, so I got them done before I even had the appointment. I just had my PCP send me for the stress test and the sleep study. All I have left to do is the endoscopy, chest xray, labwork and psych eval. Hope that helps!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
