Four months out and reality has kicked in

Recommended Posts

Wow, Estrellita, your post is amazing. Though I was only sleeved 22 days ago and I haven't necessarily suffered from the depression (yet), I can totally identify with much of what you said. I knew before hand that this surgery was, in and of itself, not a cure for obesity but rather a tool. Well, my tool is definitely helping but I'm one of the unlucky few that has physical hunger throughout the day. The head hunger is also much more difficult than I had anticipated. I seriously thought that when I felt full I would NOT want more food. Before the surgery, when I stuffed my face I didn't even want to look at food for a few hours. I was counting on that full feeling helping me put the fork down and NOT WANT any more. Well, instead I feel sick and put the fork down but I still WANT to eat. Much more difficult than I had anticipated.

Thank you so much for posting your experience.

Best Wishes,

Lisa

Hi Jane

I am so glad to hear, that it is possibel for some to breake their bad eating habits.

INTO a MILLION PIECES.

Fantastic.

If I just could reduce half of my crappy intake of crappy carbs after my operation, I know I will never get overweight again. I have come a long way - but know, that I must be aware of my eating the rest of my lie. But it will be so much easier.

Thank you - inspirational!

Hugs from Copenhagen . 13 days!

Hi Filo, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Not long to go now :bananahuge:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
