If I have adhesions will my surgeon be able to do lap?

Recommended Posts

3 years ago I had adhesion surgery along with total hysterectomy.. My surgeon said it looked like someone had pulled out my organs, filled me with super glue and let them set up for ten years. Pretty sure this was due to an abdomina abcess that was really bad and landed me in Johns Hopkins for 3 weeks. I would not allow them to open me up and clean me out - I was so scared.. So after cocktails of many antibiotics I got better and went home on oral antibiotics. Do you think this will effect my successful Laparoscopic surgery? Also had n ulcer but don't have much trouble out of it now...just every once in a while. Really don't want anymore scars..and don't need a long recovery period.

Thanks so much!

Of course I'm not the doctor, but I had tons of adhesions (2 c-sections, hysterectomy, lap-band) and my doc removed them during the surgery with no problems. And this was also having my gall bladder removed and being revised from the lapband to VSG. All done lap. I was chock full of holes, but they were all pretty small.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
