That 5-letter word.. SCALE

Recommended Posts

Through reading here and doing my own thinking, I have decided I'm going to try to avoid the scale. I don't think I even want to put up a ticker. I just think I want to avoid getting into the battle with the scale, seeing a number I want, etc. Back in the old days, we'd go to WW once a week and get on the scale there, and that was how we did it. I don't know if I can stick to this, but I am going to try. Once a week weigh-ins, that's it. Who's with me?

Monday morning seems the obvious choice, or a Friday morning. Hmmm...

After making it through a whole month without weighing myself (http://verticalsleevetalk.com/post-operation-vertical-sleeve-gastric-surgery-vsg-questions-answers/8561-made-through-scale-strike-won.html), I strangely have no desire to weigh myself anymore. I have absolutely no idea how much I weigh. But, I do know that I bought a designer suit from the misses section for the first time EVER in my life two days ago. I can't wait to go back for another one after payday.

I don't own a scale yet and usually weigh at Walmart during my Saturday shopping trip. Today I was there and it crossed my mind, but I immediately dismissed it. I didn't want to take the chance on getting on the scale and being disappointed. I'm continuing to drop in clothes size and having a ball with shopping these days. Why ruin my high?!

I was a self-admitted scale whore through my losing stage. I totally lost that loving feeling once I got into maintenance, and didn't get the thrill from getting on the scale anymore. Now, I might get on the scale once a week or once every other week. I can tell when I'm retaining Water, or have bounced up or down a few pounds just by how my clothes fit.

The scale was never an enemy, and in a way it kept me accountable and motivated. But, I know that it could be frustrating for some.

Do what is best for you ! ! !

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
