three months post op

Recommended Posts

Thank you for your help! I saw my doc today and shared some of my same concerns, and he said the same.. this is normal, and I just have to take the time to get to know my new stomach. I have slowed down and tried to only measure out 1/4 cup of what I'm eating. Last night I made a packet of oatmeal. Of course I just made the entire thing, following instructions, etc. I sat down to eat and figured oh I'll just eat about 1/4 cup and stop when I feel full. Well of course, I didn't finish it all, but I'm sure i ended up eating more than 1/4 cup. And sure enough I felt sick and eventually barfed. ugh. So.. from now on, I will measure out ONLY that amount and bring it to my place. Today I have done okay, and yes I'm on the custardy, pudding, yogurt, Soup type of stuff. I guess just got discouraged and wondered if I'd ever feel normal again. .... Maybe a few months from now, I'll be helping out a newbie!! Thanks again!! :)

Hey Jordien,

I am sure you will be helping out others... sooner than later looking at your weight loss!!!

When I first went onto more solid first, I weighed my food... I use a small side plate and weigh the food on that, now I can eat between 125 - 175g of food depending on what it is. I still weigh; I did stop for a while and put too much on my little plate and felt sick after trying to eat it!! So back to the weighing and, for me, it really works!

Keep up the good work!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
