Job interview update

Recommended Posts

Update, in case anyone is interested:

I had the interview yesterday, and it seemed to go well. There were three people there, including the person I'd be replacing. We talked about my prior experience with the organization, what I learned, what they've changed in the interim, how I'd get back up to speed, how I might handle specific situations, my personal situation and how it's changed, the challenges ahead in the short term for the organization, what I do now and how it relates...

In short, it was a 45-minute discussion that all seemed positive. There was no discussion of compensation or anything. Many of the issues brought up would be impossible for them to talk about with other candidates, since they related to my prior experience and specific knowledge. In other words, this isn't a level playing field.

I have no idea who my competition is or what the committee is considering when comparing candidates. As far as qualifications go, there is quite literally no one better qualified to do this job than I. But there may be other concerns to which I am not privy.

So now I wait. They said they hope to have a decision by next week. Please have good thoughts for me--I want this job so badly I can taste it.

Now I just have to try to keep my tension level down for the next few days. It's in other people's hands...

Waiting the hardest part!! Just remember things always work out for the best. This reminded me that I never did get back to you on the pay negotiation thing. I'll PM you. My DH just secured a new position and went through the same thing.

Sending good wishes your way. Let it go now as its not in your hands. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. If for some insane reason you don't get it, it must be that there is something else good for you.

Thanks so much, everyone. I'm all a-jitter every time I check my e-mail, though I know it's too early to expect any news. It's killing me!

I had a dream the other night about telling my current bosses I am leaving. What a wonderful day that will be. :biggrin1:

Another thought: My brother made the observation that if the board had already decided NOT to hire me, they wouldn't have invited me back for a second interview. So assuming they haven't already made that determination, I'd have to agree that my chances look pretty good.

Sounds like great news Alexandra!

That job is yours - now it's all about negotiating for the money! When they offer you the job, don't be so excited about the offer that you forget to negotiate for compensation!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
