doing better today... day 3 without morphine was brutal. I was very glad that we ended up staying in the hospital an extra day. I needed to be close to a bathroom all day. Happily the south end of things is behaving a lot better now.

We are both home now and were released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Now we are doing our best to follow the doctor's orders. It is hard to get in the recommended amount of Protein. I am adding it to anything I can find ahah. We are on the full liquid diet now so at least there is a little cream of wheat in there and yogurt. It is just a matter of getting in the fluids. I am finding it a bit of a challenge but hanging in.

Last night I was up in the middle of the night for more pain medicine and antinausea meds. I am really thankful that I have them!!

Just wanted to pop in and let you know how we are. This was a huge step and I am dealing with my decision in as positive a way as I can. I assume I will feel differently as time goes by. :001_wub:

Congratulations. You'll be the incredible shrinking diva soon. You might look out of place in Tristan und Isolde, but I never liked Wagner anyway. Perhaps if I drive up to Phoenix and go to the opera, I will see you. I will look for the skinny opera singer.

Best of luck on this journey. AZ summers are much nicer with the sleeve.

Thank you for all of the support guys!! Today I had a few moments where I felt normal haha... Things are moving along I am trying to have patience with myself and take it easy. I am feeling very fortunate that I had some sick time saved and can have a few weeks to recover before going back to work. The cats love this idea by the way!! Lol. ; D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
