I just got home from having my endoscopy. The dr saw an ulcer on my esophagus, but everything else looks fine. I am so relieved, WHEW. As they say...not knowing is a biatch.

I have been prescribed something to aid in moving food out of my tummy quicker. This means there will be less in there to back up into my esophagus later. He also put me on Carafate to heal the ulcer and upped my Nexium to twice a day.

For the next week, I am back to mushies to help in the healing process, which also means nothing spicy.

I am so relieved and wanted to thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

Great ! That explains the blood !

Down here they put everybody that went throught a VSG to take a medicine called Motilium for two months after surgery, you are supposed to take it 15 min before each meal.

I think you are on track now. Maybe you could ask your doctor if you should thake the PPI longer, until your reflux decrease.

I think I could have benefited from that drug you mentioned. Also, I agree with you, I think the I should stay with the PPI longer.

Thanks for your reply.

Maddie I am so thankful that you do not have to go back in for surgery and that it is something that is treatable with some meds. You have been through so much with your recovery you deserve a break. Continued thoughts and prayers.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
