I had surgery on July 23rd At the Washington Hosp Center, In washington DC. Dr T. Shopes was the Doctor. Everything went good, some pain and gas for about two days, and then it was clear sailing. My staring weight was 300 pounds, day of surgery 285.today my weight is 260 pounds. I so pleased with my results so far. I started walking 3 miles on Aug 1st. I'm on the losers bench now.

I dont know for sure but from my expeience, most guys that go on any type of "diet" lose quicker the women because of the fact that they have more muscle mass and more muscle means more calories burned.(HOW UN FAIR TO US LADIES):confused1:

Both my wife and I had the surgery 1 week ago today. I almost can't believe the results so far, 30lbs lost for me, she has lost about 16. Our diet is exactly the same, ok maybe I'm having a few more popcicles, but other than that the same. We are both up to a mile a day walks, this is on top of the up/down stairs and everyday moving. So yes I think guys, especially those of us who have a good amount of muscle under it all, lol have an easier time with the initial weight loss. Now to see if the long term loss is similar. I don't really expect a 30lbs / week loss that is for sure, but a healthy 5-8 / week would be good for my motivation! Will keep you informed. Great job on your loss to this point! Oh and I don't remember my PIN so I can't update my "ticker" so if anyone has a clue how to update this please let me know!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
