Post Op issues? Rib pain and sunken areas

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had sharp pains in their left rib cage area and/or a large sunken area on left side below left rib cage? This is pretty much the only issues I have had at 8 days Post Op. No nausea, no worries!! But I am very ready for mushy food stage!

Wow... I have that exact same pain. I thought I pulled a muscle or something. It was really killing me the other night so out of desperation I took two Zantac 75mg and half a hour later the pain was gone.

I dunno if my stomach acid pools in that area or if it's a backlog in my intestines or something.

It did work for me though.

I had a sunken area on the left at the incision site where he pulls the stomach through. It is a deeper incision and there is a suture in there that will break later. It hurt for 2 weeks started to get better, then broke (sunken area was gone), hurt again, but started to finally get better. All gone by 3 weeks. Only bad part of the whole thing. I don't have any problems with any food now. Zero issues really, weight loss a little slow, but I need to start exercising more. Hope your FB season goes well, be carful in this heat!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
